Calling all girls between the ages of 15 and 18 and in
grades 10 - 12 who want to make a positive change in the world through STEM
Have you developed or dreamed of an amazing project you
think could revolutionize the world, simplify our lives, help the disabled, or
just make life on earth a little better, safer, or healthier?
MARVEL STUDIOS is searching nationwide for girls - just like
you - ages 15 to 18 in grades 10 - 12 to explore their inner potential to
reform the future with positive world change by creating an original and
innovative project using STEM.
One winner of MARVEL'S CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL
WAR - GIRLS REFORMING THE FUTURE CHALLENGE will be selected to receive an internship
with MARVEL STUDIOS.
You may create a new project for the challenge or submit a
project you previously developed for a class, for a science competition, or
just for fun. Science, technology, engineering, or mathematics must be used in
the creation of the project, and the project should have the potential to
benefit humankind.
After completing your project, you will submit a short video
demonstrating and explaining the benefits of your project, how STEM helped you
develop the project, and why you would like an internship at MARVEL STUDIOS.
Five finalists will be selected and each will:
Receive a $500 High Yield Savings account from Synchrony
Bank.
Receive a trip to Hollywood, California for the finalist and
a parent or legal guardian for the opportunity to present their project to
leaders in science and industry at MARVEL STUDIOS.
Will participate in a live global Broadcom Masters webinar
during which they will discuss how their STEM skills enabled them to create
their projects.
Have the opportunity to walk the red carpet at the World
Premiere of MARVEL'S CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR on April 12, 2016.
Receive a tour of the Walt Disney Studios and Dolby
Laboratories facilities.
One winner will be selected from the finalists to receive an
internship opportunity at MARVEL STUDIOS.
Finalists of MARVEL'S CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR - GIRLS
REFORMING THE FUTURE CHALLENGE will be notified by March 30, 2016. Each
Finalist and their parent or legal guardian will travel to Los Angeles,
California on Sunday, April 10, 2016.
TO ENTER
STEP 1: READ THE OFFICIAL RULES.
Make sure you qualify for the challenge: you are between the
ages of 15 and 18, in grades 10 - 12, live in the United States, and would be
able to obtain a work permit should you earn the internship.
STEP 2: DEVELOP YOUR IDEA.
Find your idea. Think about how you would like to reform the
future. Look for inspiration from your teachers, your family, your friends, and
the world around you.
STEP 3: COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM.
Come back to the website www.CaptainAmericaChallenge.com and
click on the APPLY page to complete the online application form. Applications
will be accepted from 4:00AM Pacific Time on March 11, 2016 to 9:00PM Pacific
Time on March 26, 2016. You are strongly encouraged to apply early to ensure
full consideration.
All applications must be submitted to www.CaptainAmericaChallenge.com
STEP 4: RECEIVE CONFIRMATION.
Once your application has been processed, you will receive a
confirmation email (processing takes approximately 48 hours).
STEP 5: CREATE AND HAVE FUN!
Create, build, or repurpose an existing project! Use your
STEM skills and show us your original and innovative idea.
STEP 6: CREATE A VIDEO.
Once your application is accepted, and once your project is
complete, you will create a video (not to exceed 5 minutes in length) of
yourself and your project. In your video you will answer the questions below
and show off your amazing project. You may use a Smartphone, computer, tablet,
or camera to make your video. Please make sure we can see and hear you and your
project clearly in your video!

What did you learn while developing this project?
How did working on the project empower you to explore your
own strength of character?
What next steps do you plan to take with your project?

STUDIOS?
All videos must comply with the following:
You should be the only person who appears in the video.
Please only include your first name in the video. Videos
that include last names, physical addresses, high school names, or any other
identifying information will be immediately disqualified from further
consideration.
The video must be original.
If the video is taken by a third party, you must have
secured all rights and clearances to the video from the third party.
Video cannot contain any music or any identifiable
background images (posters, logo shirts, objects with brand names, or
identifiable brand products, etc.).
Repurposed materials used in the project should have their
brand names obscured in the video.
The video cannot contain materials embodying copyrighted
images, names, likenesses, photographs, or anything else that identifies any
person, living or dead, without permission.
The video cannot defame, misrepresent, or contain
disparaging remarks about people or companies.
The video cannot be obscene or offensive, endorse any form
of hate or hate group or be derogatory to any ethnic, racial, gender,
religious, professional, or age group.
The video cannot communicate messages or images inconsistent
with the positive images and/or goodwill to which Disney wishes to associate.
The video cannot depict illegal activity and cannot itself
be in violation of any law.
The video may not include images of a known celebrity,
famous or well-known person, or any image which violates the right of privacy
or publicity of any person.
The video cannot be longer than 5 minutes in length.
STEP 7: UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO.
A) Check the quality of your video. Review the list above
and make sure you have followed all of the instructions. Verify the video is
less than five (5) minutes in length.
B) Please label your video in the following manner:
LAST NAME_FIRST NAME_Challenge
C) Click the unique Video Upload link found on your
application acceptance email and follow the directions to upload your video to
the site.
All video submissions must be uploaded to the MARVEL'S
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR - GIRLS REFORMING THE FUTURE CHALLENGE website at
www.CaptainAmericaChallenge.com and must be submitted by 9:00PM Pacific Time on
March 26, 2016.
