Book Contests for Summer

In addition to our very own Summer Reading Club, a few other places are offering prizes just for reading. Here is a list and what you need to do. Click on the link to get access to the various tools needed to complete the contests. Barnes & Noble 1.  Read any 8 books and record them in the  Reading Journal 2. Bring the completed Reading Journal to your local B&N store 3. Choose a FREE BOOK from our selection on the Reading Journal list at the store Pottery Barn Kids 1. Select a book from one of their the book lists 2. Read all summer long and track your child's progress 3. Reward your reading champion   with a certificate 4. Visit a local store to receive a free book Scholastic Summer Challenge 1. Sign up at the website 2. Track how many minutes you read 3. Get chances to win prizes Book It Program 1. Things I Found on the Web

I recently found three things of interest that I thought I would share with you.  Check them out. Storify Storify lets you curate social networks to build social stories, bringing together media scattered across the Web into a coherent narrative. We are building the story layer above social networks, to amplify the voices that matter and create a new media format that is interactive, dynamic and social. Flipboard This app, available for the iPad and Android, Flipboard creates a personalized magazine out of everything being shared with you. Flip through your Facebook newsfeed, tweets from your Twitter timeline, photos from Instagram friends, sounds from SoundCloud and much more. Dropbox Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily. Never email yourself a file again!
